Our holiday farm near Fluitenberg borders directly on the thousand hectare Boswachterij Ruinen. In this area you will find alternating woods, heaths and fens. In the forest there are several beautiful picnic areas within walking distance of the farm. The wooded area is perfect for a bike ride.
Two ANWB cycling routes run along the farm, namely the Echtener- and the Dwingelderveld Route. The Dwingelderveld Route takes you through one of the largest and wettest heathlands in Europe. You can of course also map out your own route along the many characteristic Drenthe villages and hamlets such as Ruinen, Hees, Echten, Ten Arlo and Zuidwolde.
