This bronze ram named Bram is closely connected to Ruinen and its history. The statue was created by sculptor Johan Sterenberg (1920 -2002)
and represents flocks of sheep that grazed on the Drenthe moors around Ruinen for centuries. This artful reminder of the village's agricultural past was donated by the province of Drenthe in 1966 to mark the opening of the new town hall. Since then, Bram has stood prominently at the edge of the Brink, as a recognisable village icon.
